This extension aims to maximize participation from governmental, semi-governmental bodies, institutions, and private companies within the UAE and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The goal is to encourage entities to register in both the initiatives and research and development categories, demonstrating the RTA's commitment to aligning with Dubai's vision for future sustainable transportation.

The extension provides ample time for interested participants and facilitates broader involvement in the initiatives and research and development categories. The RTA seeks to encompass contributions from the MENA region, emphasizing its dedication to supporting Dubai's vision by adopting international best practices, adhering to environmental standards, and staying abreast of the latest eco-friendly technologies and innovations.

Participation remains open to various entities, including governmental and semi-governmental bodies, private companies, schools, universities, and public benefit associations across the region. The judging committee will diligently evaluate the entries, with the announcement of winners scheduled for the second quarter of this year.

In the 13th session, the Dubai Sustainable Transport Award has undergone restructuring in categories and prizes:

  1. Initiatives Category: Comprising five awards, including Outstanding Sustainable Transport, Mobility Management, Transportation Safety, Environmental Preservation, and Initiatives Related to People of Determination. Participation is welcomed from the Middle East and North Africa region.

  2. Research and development Category: Featuring two awards for the Best Research/Student Project and the Best Research/Academic Project. Entities from the Middle East and North Africa region can participate.

  3. Special Honors Category: Encompassing three awards for the Best Consultant, Best Contractor, and Best Partner with the Authority in the field of sustainability. Participation in this category is restricted to entities within the UAE.
