UAE Police unveil rescue operation for 7 Asians lost in Wadi Shaha
In order to save seven people of Asian descent who had become lost in Wadi Sheha, Ras Al Khaimah, the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, along with its Search and Rescue Department and Air Wing Department, performed a successful rescue effort.
One group member became extremely stressed and exhausted and eventually passed out. This is how the situation happened.
Major Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Saman, leading the Search and Rescue Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police, received a distress signal regarding individuals stranded in Wadi Sheha. The department promptly mobilised a team, deploying personnel and vehicles to locate the group. After traversing challenging terrain, they successfully located the group in a rugged area of Wadi Sheha.
Given the rough terrain, the search and rescue team had to proceed on foot to reach the stranded individuals. Upon arrival, they found one member of the group in a critical condition, having lost consciousness due to fatigue and stress. Swift action was taken to provide medical assistance, and the incapacitated individual was carefully transported using a stretcher to ensure their safety.
Simultaneously, the Ras Al Khaimah Police deployed a helicopter to assist in the rescue operation. The helicopter crew located a suitable landing spot in the valley, enabling them to airlift the injured person to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
While the helicopter was engaged in the rescue, the remaining individuals, though fatigued, were found to be in stable condition. Basic first aid was administered on-site before they were escorted to safety. Once the rescue operation was completed, the group was reunited with their vehicles at the entrance of the valley.
This successful rescue mission exemplifies the dedication and professionalism of the Ras Al Khaimah Police search and rescue teams. Their swift response and efficient coordination ensured the safe retrieval of the stranded individuals from a challenging and remote location. Such operations underscore the commitment of the Ras Al Khaimah Police to safeguarding lives and ensuring public safety across the emirate.
