Sheikh Hamdan applauds Dubai resilience amid rain recovery efforts

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, recently lauded Dubai's resilience in the face of severe weather conditions that swept through the UAE last week.

Sheikh Hamdan chaired a meeting where he praised Dubai's ability to overcome challenges and emphasized the emirate's dedication to enhancing its global standing, guided by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the unwavering response of government entities and emergency response teams, especially the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai, under the leadership of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to the challenging circumstances brought on by the extreme weather.

He also extended gratitude to businesses, communities, and volunteers for their collaborative efforts and support, emphasizing the cohesive and resilient fabric of Dubai's society, rooted in unity, solidarity, and a readiness to confront and surmount challenges.

Asserting Dubai's trajectory towards realizing Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's vision of becoming one of the world's most prepared, resilient, and adaptable cities, Sheikh Hamdan expressed confidence in the city's ability to confront extreme weather events, given the demonstrated competence of its response teams.

He lauded the spirit of preparedness, unity, and collaboration that permeated Dubai's response to the weather crisis, viewing the experience as an opportunity to bolster the emirate's emergency readiness for the future. Consequently, Sheikh Hamdan directed government entities to formulate a comprehensive, proactive strategy for addressing extreme weather events.

The Executive Council also scrutinized Dubai's handling of the adverse weather conditions and noted the substantial involvement of over 25,000 personnel and volunteers, along with thousands of security patrols, emergency vehicles, and essential service operators, in the emergency response efforts. This collective endeavor underscored Dubai's commitment to safeguarding its citizens and residents during times of crisis, further solidifying its reputation as a resilient and proactive global hub.
