Emirates Red Crescent Authority's Ramadan 2024 Campaign
The campaign encompasses various programs, including iftar meals, Zakat al-Fitr, Eid clothing, and Ramadan food distribution.
The campaign's primary objective in the United Arab Emirates is to help those in need by distributing food for iftar, Ramadan, and Zakat al-Fitr. Shopping malls and prominent marketplaces are among the 321 designated donation collecting areas spread out across the emirates by the Authority.
Internationally, the campaign targets beneficiaries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America, with a comprehensive set of Ramadan programs. These initiatives include iftar meals, Zakat al-Fitr, and Eid clothing distribution, totaling over 22 million dirhams in cost.
In response to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the Authority has enhanced its efforts by providing 10,000 iftar meals daily throughout Ramadan, in addition to other essential Ramadan supplies. This reflects the Authority's commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, both locally and internationally.
Acting Secretary-General Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri emphasized the importance of community engagement and partnership to expand the reach and impact of the Authority's programs. Despite the challenging humanitarian circumstances globally, the Authority remains dedicated to alleviating the suffering of those in need.
In addition to traditional Ramadan activities, the Authority announced a new initiative to set up iftar tents exclusively for women across the UAE. This initiative aims to provide a comfortable and inclusive space for women to break their fast during Ramadan, starting with trial locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ajman.
The success of the Ramadan 2024 Campaign relies on the support of strategic partners such as ADNOC, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, and Dubai Islamic Bank, along with gold partners and communication and logistics partners. The Authority expresses gratitude to all sponsors for their contributions to this vital humanitarian endeavor.
