As of the end of 2023, the total reached 1,48,913 accounts, reflecting a significant rise compared to the 995,478 accounts recorded at the close of 2022. This surge represents an approximate 5.1% increase.

The upswing in the number of water accounts is indicative of the economic recovery taking place in Dubai. It also underscores the growing demand for DEWA's services, contributing to the authority's sustainable growth. Moreover, this positive trend aligns with the objectives outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which seeks to double the size of Dubai's economy over the next decade and solidify its position among the top three economic cities globally.

Saeed Al Tayer expressed, "With the vision and directives of the wise leadership, Dubai continues its journey to be the best city to live in the world. In 2023, for the fifth consecutive year, Dubai secured the top position as the best city suitable for living in the Middle East and North Africa region, as per the information unit of the 'Economist.'"

The increase in water accounts signifies not only the growing population but also the positive economic climate fostering sustained development in Dubai. The city's consistent recognition for its quality of life further attests to its commitment to providing an optimal living environment. Under the guidance of visionary leadership, Dubai remains dedicated to its goal of being a global benchmark for livability and continues to implement strategies that contribute to its ongoing success.
