Dubai RTA Declares Free Parking for New Year Weekend
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has informed drivers that they will be able to park for free for two days over the next holiday weekend in an effort to make the city's citizens even more festive.
Dubai Grants Two-Day Free Parking for New Year
On the first day of the new year, specifically Monday, January 1, 2024, public parking will be exempt from charges, providing a welcome relief for individuals planning to engage in New Year festivities. It's worth noting that Dubai already observes free parking on Sundays.
It's important to highlight that this complimentary parking arrangement excludes multi-level terminals. Regular parking fees will be reinstated on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, following the conclusion of the free parking period.
Extended Weekend Delight for New Year Celebrations
Residents in Dubai are in for an extended weekend treat, fostering a celebratory ambiance for the onset of the new year. With January 1 falling on Monday and designated as a public holiday, coupled with the conventional Saturday-Sunday weekend, individuals can revel in a well-deserved three-day break.
RTA Service Timings Catering to the Long Weekend
To facilitate the public during the prolonged weekend, the RTA has adjusted the service timings for various facilities:
1. Technical Testing and Customer Service Centres:
These establishments will remain closed on January 1, ensuring that vehicle-related services align with the public holiday.
2. Dubai Metro:
Both the Red and Green lines will operate from 8 am on December 31, 2023, to 11:59 pm on January 1, 2024. This extended service duration accommodates commuters during the New Year celebrations.
3. Dubai Tram:
For the duration of the holiday season, the Dubai Tram will run from 9 am on December 31, 2023, until 1 am on January 2, 2024, helping to accommodate the public's transportation demands.
This considerate initiative by the RTA seeks to enrich the overall experience of residents and visitors during the New Year celebrations by providing convenient and cost-free parking options and ensuring accessible transportation services.
