Dubai is gaining popularity as a top destination for wedding proposals, with couples worldwide drawn to its iconic landmarks. The trend is shifting towards "golden hour" events, featuring picturesque backdrops like the Burj Al Arab or rooftops overlooking the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building globally.

Caroline Ralston, founder and CEO of Dubai’s Proposal Boutique, noted that the average cost of proposals is around AED40,000, but some elaborate ones can reach up to AED250,000. Clients who want to use the iconic Burj Khalifa or Burj Al Arab as a backdrop and who want professional photography and videography to record the moment for sharing on social media are driving up demand.

The Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab are now rivaling the Eiffel Tower in Paris as renowned proposal backdrops, marking Dubai's ascent as a preferred destination for romantic events.

Since launching in 2014, Proposal Boutique has witnessed a significant surge in demand for proposal event planning, and 2024 is expected to set a record. Over the years, the boutique has orchestrated extravagant proposals in unique settings, including a private zoo, a football field, and a Disney-themed affair in the Burj Khalifa.

Beyond proposals, Dubai is also becoming a key player in the destination wedding trend, estimated to have a global market value of approximately $28.3 billion. Couples from around the world are choosing Dubai for their weddings, and the emirate is also gaining popularity for honeymoon vacations, whether as a final destination or a layover en route to other destinations like the Maldives.

Dubai Tourism is actively promoting the city for wedding and honeymoon tourism, encouraging more stopovers in Dubai. This has contributed to the increasing trend of multi-sector honeymoons, solidifying Dubai's position in the global wedding and tourism industry.
