Dubai International Airport (DXB) has taken a significant step in enhancing its transportation services by doubling the number of taxis at the airport. The Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) added 350 new environment-friendly taxis to its fleet, aiming to improve daily mobility for both residents and visitors in Dubai.
The airport taxi service is exclusively designated for arrivals at Dubai Airports and Port Rashid, providing passengers with round-the-clock transportation to any destination within the UAE. With the addition of the 350 new taxis, the Dubai Taxi Company now stands as one of the largest taxi operators in the region, boasting a fleet of 5,566 vehicles. This expansion has also led to a notable increase in the company's market share within the taxi sector, reaching 45%.
Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, emphasized that the decision to double the fleet of airport taxis is a strategic move. The goal is to promote and enhance taxi services at the airport, with an expected increase of 30% in trips. This expansion aims to reduce waiting times and provide quicker services to passengers arriving at the airport.
The fleet operated by Dubai Taxi Company offers a diverse range of vehicles, including luxurious limousines and electric vehicles, all meticulously regulated and monitored by the company's control centers. This ensures the safety and efficiency of transportation operations for passengers.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency, highlighted the increasing growth of Dubai International Airport, with the number of passengers expected to reach approximately 88 million in 2024. In response to this growth, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) decided to equip Dubai Taxi Company as the exclusive provider of airport taxi services with an additional 350 vehicle plates. This strategic move aligns with the broader goal of offering a comprehensive and reliable transportation service to accommodate the rising demands of passengers traveling through Dubai International Airport.
