Dubai: An Indian Expat Passes Away as His Family Arrives for This Reason
An Indian immigrant who had lived in Dubai for over 15 years suddenly died the day his much-anticipated family arrived for their first visit.
He had lived in the United Arab Emirates for a long time, but he had never had the opportunity to bring his family to Dubai. Ashraf Thamarassery, a social worker, emphasised the man's happiness and meticulous preparation of activities for their visit, highlighting his desire to make lasting memories with his cherished family members.
However, fate dealt a cruel blow, as the man's aspirations were dashed upon his family's arrival. Amidst the joyous reunion, he was suddenly gripped by chest pain, signaling the onset of a fatal heart attack. Despite swift medical attention, tragically, he did not survive the ordeal.
The abrupt turn of events plunged the family into a whirlwind of grief, forcing them to cut short their visit and return to their homeland within a mere three days. With bureaucratic procedures looming, the necessary paperwork and formalities for the repatriation of the man's body had to be swiftly completed. Once the requisite procedures were fulfilled, the man's body was repatriated, and his funeral was solemnly conducted the same week.
Thamarassery expressed profound sorrow at witnessing the family's swift transition from joyous anticipation to profound grief, emphasising the tragic and unforeseen nature of the loss. In the wake of an expatriate's demise in the UAE, families are confronted with a series of bureaucratic hurdles. This includes notifying relevant authorities to initiate a death report and obtaining a death certificate declaration once the body is transferred to the morgue. Furthermore, the process may entail securing a no objection certificate (NOC) to facilitate the repatriation of the deceased's remains to their home country.
The untimely demise of the Indian expatriate serves as a poignant reminder of life's unpredictability and the profound impact of loss on families torn apart by tragedy.
