Saudi Arabia announces six-day Eid Al Fitr holiday for employees
Public and private sector employees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will get a week-long vacation beginning April 8th in observance of the four-day Eid Al Fitr festival.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has announced that, starting on Ramadan 29, 1445 (April 8), the majority of employees would have four days of uninterrupted vacation. Because Friday and Saturday are already considered the official weekends in Saudi Arabia, locals may relax for six days in a row. After the holiday break, regular business operations will begin again on April 14.
The ministry would like to remind employers that during this vacation time, they are expected to follow the requirements contained in the second paragraph of Article 24 of the Labor Law's executive regulation.
After the holy month of Ramadan began on March 11, which is marked by Eid Al Fitr, it concludes. Muslims throughout the world fast from sunrise to sunset and devote themselves to prayer and meditation during the holy month of Ramadan.
Every year, for 354-55 days, the Islamic lunar calendar observes Ramadan, the ninth month. Ramadan might thus be 30 or 29 days long, depending on the moon's visibility. In the Islamic calendar, Eid Al Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the month after Ramadan.
On the other hand, in observance of Eid Al Fitr, citizens of the United Arab Emirates may have a more extended vacation in April. Public and commercial sector employees in the United Arab Emirates will get time off from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, as announced by the government. The Islamic celebration of Eid will take place on April 9 if Ramadan finishes after 29 days, and on April 10 if the month of Ramadan lasts 30 days.
