UAE Police impound five vehicles for this reason
Five cars that were involved in disruptive stunts and careless driving that disturbed the quiet in the Nad Al Sheba neighbourhood were recently seized by Dubai Police.
Dubai Police Take Action Against Street Racing Disturbances
The Director of Dubai Police's General Department of Traffic, Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, emphasised the risks associated with this kind of behaviour, stating that it not only created annoyance but also put road users' lives in jeopardy.
Swift Response to the Street Racing Menace
The impounded vehicles were seized in response to reports of chaotic activities in the Nad Al Sheba and Al Meydan Street areas. The drivers were engaged in disruptive stunts, creating noise disturbances, and causing a general nuisance. Major General Al Mazrouei stressed the importance of safe driving practices and urged young drivers to avoid serious traffic offences.
Parental monitoring and legal consequences
Expressing concern about the reckless behaviour of young drivers, Major General Al Mazrouei called upon parents to monitor their children's driving habits. He underlined the punitive measures for traffic offences, including vehicle impoundment and fines of up to AED50,000. The impounding of the five vehicles occurred after midnight on a Wednesday, signalling Dubai Police's commitment to maintaining road safety and deterring disruptive activities.
Legal Consequences for Disturbing the Peace
Major General Al Mazrouei cautioned against creating chaos and disturbances on roads, citing potential legal consequences such as imprisonment and vehicle impoundment. The law aims to discourage reckless driving practices and ensure the safety of all road users. Dubai Police reiterated their dedication to enforcing traffic regulations and swiftly responding to violations that compromise public safety.
Reporting Violations through Official Channels
To encourage community involvement in maintaining road safety, Dubai Police emphasised the importance of reporting violations. Citizens can use the "Police Eye" feature on the Dubai Police app or the "We Are All Police" service by dialling 901 to report incidents of reckless driving and other traffic offences.
Dubai Police remains vigilant in addressing disruptive behaviours on the roads, aiming to create a safer environment for all residents and visitors.
