A video capturing the dangerous stunt circulated widely on social media, prompting swift response from authorities. The owners of these vehicles now face significant penalties, including hefty fines and vehicle confiscation.

Following heavy rains across various parts of the UAE, several areas, including valleys, experienced flooding. Despite the potential dangers posed by flooded valleys, the drivers of these vehicles decided to engage in reckless behavior. The RAK Police have imposed strict penalties on these individuals in accordance with federal and local laws.

Under federal law, the drivers are subject to a fine of Dh2,000, along with the impoundment of their vehicles for a period of 60 days. Additionally, they will receive 23 black points on their driving records. These penalties are applied uniformly to anyone found entering flooded valleys, irrespective of the level of risk involved.

Furthermore, a recent law enacted in Ras Al Khaimah mandates an additional period of vehicle confiscation for offenders. The seized vehicles will remain in police custody for an additional 120 days under this law. To retrieve their confiscated vehicles, the owners will be required to pay a fee of Dh10,000.

The RAK Police conducted an investigation to identify the vehicles and their drivers involved in the reckless driving incident. Following their identification, the police took swift action, arresting the individuals responsible and applying the necessary penalties. This serves as a deterrent to others considering engaging in similar dangerous behavior on the roads.
