The creator and chairman of WETEX, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, also serves as the managing director and CEO of DEWA. He highlighted the importance of the expo as one of the biggest specialized events globally.

He emphasized its function in supporting the United Arab Emirates and Dubai in their endeavors to stimulate international campaigns targeted at hastening the energy shift and reaching carbon neutrality, especially in the context of the UAE's Year of Sustainability.

Al Tayer emphasized the role of WETEX as an international forum for exhibiting state-of-the-art ideas, technologies, and solutions from around the world. He pointed out that these breakthroughs are well-positioned to tackle current and upcoming issues, opening the door to a more sustainable future. He commended the leadership of the nation for its steadfast support of the expo, which has established WETEX as a key player in furthering Dubai's Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Emirate's Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050. By 2050, these plans seek to guarantee that all energy production capacity will originate from sustainable energy sources.

Al Tayer also emphasized the increasing backing that WETEX is receiving from a range of sponsors, partners, and stakeholders who see it as a fantastic chance to share knowledge, establish alliances, and investigate investment opportunities in local and regional markets. This backing coincides with a rise in interest in environmental preservation, clean energy, sustainability, and renewable resources around the world.

In the previous WETEX, which was held in 2023, about 2,600 firms from 62 countries participated with the help of 76 domestic and international organizations. Across 78,000 square meters, 24 foreign pavilions from 16 different countries were housed throughout the event. These figures validate WETEX's reputation as a premier gathering of industry leaders to network, cooperate, and further global sustainability and renewable technology initiatives.
