UAE Announces Road Closures in Dubai for the Upcoming Marathon
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has formally announced the temporary closure of a section of the Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah roads ahead of Sunday's Dubai Marathon.
Road Closures for the Dubai Marathon 2024:
The closure is in effect from six in the morning to one in the afternoon. It is expected that at this time, major thoroughfares like Al Wasl Road, Jumeirah Beach Road, and Umm Suqeim Street would encounter delays. However, as of yet, the public has not been given access to a comprehensive inventory of the specific routes affected.
Marathon Route and Start/Finish Points:
The marathon will kick off and conclude on Umm Suqeim Road, in proximity to the Dubai Police Academy. Runners will navigate a 42.195km course, traversing Jumeirah Beach Road and passing iconic landmarks such as the Burj Al Arab and Madinat properties. The 2024 Dubai Marathon caters to a diverse range of participants, featuring elite athletes, amateur runners, and individuals participating for the first time.
