UAE: Sharjah Authority launches the "Holy Quran" competition for its members
The Department of Social Services in Sharjah, in collaboration with the Department of Institutional Performance and in partnership with the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet, is set to host the annual Holy Qur’an Competition for its members.
This event, now in its fourth consecutive year, is designed to engage individuals from various demographics, including the elderly, individuals with disabilities, victims of abuse, and children.
The primary objective of the competition is to foster a culture of Quranic memorization and recitation among participants from diverse backgrounds. Recognizing the profound spiritual and worldly benefits associated with the Quran, the organizers aim to inspire all members to continue their memorization efforts and actively participate in the competition.
Dr. Maryam Al Kindi, Director of the Department’s Excellence Office, confirmed the completion of the initial qualifying stage of the competition. She further announced that the winners of the competition would be unveiled in the coming week, following a thorough evaluation process.
An esteemed evaluation committee from the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah Foundation has been appointed to adjudicate the competition, ensuring fairness and impartiality in the selection of winners. This committee will assess participants based on their memorization accuracy, recitation proficiency, and overall Quranic knowledge.
The Department of Social Services endeavors to foster spiritual development, community participation, and inclusiveness among its members through the coordination of such initiatives. By utilizing the platform offered by the Holy Qur'an Competition, people of every age and background are motivated to foster a more profound understanding of the Quran and its teachings, consequently enhancing their existence in this mortal realm and the next.
