UAE Welcomes Indian PM Modi for Bilateral Talks and Temple Inauguration
This coming Tuesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he will attend a number of events and meetings in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
An indication of the increasing diplomatic interaction between India and the UAE over the previous several years, this is his third visit to the nation within the last eight months and his seventh overall.
During his visit, Modi is scheduled to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss avenues for further enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries. Additionally, bilateral discussions will encompass regional and global issues of mutual concern. Modi will also hold discussions with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
An eagerly anticipated event during Modi's visit is the inauguration of the Middle East's inaugural traditional Hindu stone temple in Abu Dhabi, a milestone event symbolizing the deepening cultural ties between India and the UAE.
On Tuesday evening, Modi will address a large gathering of Indian expatriates at the 'Ahlan Modi' event at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi, underscoring the vibrant Indian diaspora's contributions to the UAE's socio-economic fabric.
The following day, Modi will participate in the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai, where he will deliver a keynote speech. This summit, which hosts India as one of the 'guests of honor' countries, serves as a platform for global leaders to deliberate on pressing global challenges and opportunities.
Concluding his visit, Modi will inaugurate the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Mureikha, reaffirming the shared commitment of India and the UAE to promoting cultural and religious diversity and fostering mutual respect.
The robust bilateral relationship between India and the UAE, underscored by significant economic cooperation, is further evidenced by the UAE's status as one of the top investors in India. The UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which reflects a shared commitment to strengthening trade and investment ties, has strengthened this strong partnership.
