Flydubai introduces flights to 7 new destinations by next October
With aspirations to introduce flights to seven additional locations in the next few months, Flydubai has laid out audacious ambitions to grow its route network.
With this project, the airline announced 10 destinations in total between January and March 2024, a three-month period.
By starting a daily flight to Mombasa, Kenya, in January and running four weekly flights, Flydubai accomplished a noteworthy milestone. With this move, Flydubai became the first national airline to offer air travel services to Mombasa. Flydubai's first flight landed at Mombasa International Airport on January 17, expanding the airline's African network to 12 destinations across 11 countries.
Some of the well-known cities on Flydubai's network in Africa are Addis Ababa, Alexandria, Asmara, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Entebbe, Hargeisa, Juba, Mogadishu, Mombasa, and Zanzibar.
Flydubai introduced its flights to Penang and Langkawi, Malaysia, on February 10. This move demonstrates Flydubai's rising footprint in Southeast Asia, as the network consists of four locations in two nations, such as Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia and Krabi and Pattaya in Thailand.
In addition to Basel, Riga, Sochi, Tallinn, and Vilnius, the airline also intends to establish services to Red Sea Airport and Al-Jouf as part of its ongoing expansion. Launched twice a week from Dubai International Airport's Terminal 2, flights to Al-Jouf Airport and Red Sea International Airport are planned to begin on April 18.
Flydubai intends to incorporate four additional European destinations into its daily flight schedule, thereby expanding its European network to encompass 43 destinations spanning 21 countries. This signals ongoing expansion and future growth prospects for the airline.
Flydubai made waves in 2023 at the Dubai Airshow when it placed a $11 billion order for 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, indicating the airline's calculated decision to expand its fleet and improve its long-haul capacity. Flydubai is a prominent player in the global aviation business, with a fleet of 86 contemporary aircraft that serve 129 destinations across 58 countries.
