Etihad Airways introduces double daily flights to Rome
Etihad Airways recently announced plans to expand its daily frequency to Rome, Italy, signaling a significant improvement in air connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Italy.
Etihad Airways, the UAE's national airline, will increase its frequency of flights between Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Rome's Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) from 11 weekly to twice daily from November 1, 2024. This expansion is in response to increased demand from passengers seeking seamless travel choices between these two destinations.
Arik De, the Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, expressed enthusiasm about the development, highlighting the convenience that the increased flight frequency will offer to UAE residents and travelers to Italy. With morning and afternoon departures from Abu Dhabi, the double-daily flights aim to cater to diverse passenger preferences and schedules, providing more flexibility for those planning trips to Rome.
Moreover, the enhanced flight schedule from Rome to Abu Dhabi will provide travelers arriving in the UAE with ample opportunities to explore both the business and leisure offerings of the vibrant city. This strategic move aligns with Etihad Airways' commitment to not only facilitating travel but also promoting tourism and economic activities between the UAE and Italy. The increased flight frequency to Rome will significantly boost the total seat capacity, with Etihad Airways offering almost 10,000 seats per week between Abu Dhabi and Rome. This represents a remarkable 22% year-on-year capacity increase, underscoring the airline's dedication to meeting the evolving needs of passengers and supporting the growing demand for air travel between these two key destinations.
A combination of Boeing 787-9 and Boeing 777-300 aircraft from Etihad's contemporary wide-body fleet will be used to perform these extra flights. The airline is well-known for its luxurious, comfortable, and welcoming cabin service, which is something that passengers can look forward to.
Overall, Etihad Airways' decision to double its daily flights to Rome reflects its strategic approach to expanding its network and enhancing connectivity while reaffirming its position as a leading global airline committed to providing passengers with unparalleled travel experiences.
