Dubai International Airport record 87 million passengers in 2023
Dubai International Airport (DXB) set new records in 2023 with an unprecedented 87 million passengers, a remarkable surge of 31.7 percent compared to the previous year.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, attributed DXB's remarkable performance to the visionary leadership and determination of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in driving growth and excellence across sectors despite challenges.
Flight movements reached 416,405, with over 77.5 million baggage items processed through the global hub, boasting an impressive baggage accuracy rate of 99.8 percent, one of the highest among international airports.
Passport control and security checks demonstrated efficiency, with an average waiting time of seven and four minutes, respectively. December recorded the highest traffic in the fourth quarter, with 22.4 million guests passing through.
DXB maintains connectivity to 262 destinations across 104 countries, with London, Riyadh, and Mumbai emerging as the top destinations, serving 3.7 million, 2.6 million, and 2.5 million passengers, respectively.
