Dubai Authority sets the minimum top-up amount for the Nol card
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced a revision in the minimum top-up amount for Nol cards, Dubai's prepaid smart card for public transportation.
Starting January 15, the minimum top-up for Nol cards will be Dh20, an increase from the previous minimum of Dh5.
Background and Usage:
The Nol card serves as a prepaid smart card designed for convenient payments across various modes of public transportation in Dubai. This includes the Dubai Metro, buses, trams, and waterbuses. Additionally, the card can be utilized for payments related to taxi fares, parking fees, entrance to Dubai public parks, the Etihad Museum, and transactions at over 2,000 shops, restaurants, and stores throughout the city.
Top-Up Methods:
There are a variety of ways for users to add funds to their Nol cards. Solar top-up devices, RTA ticket vending machines, and the Nol Pay app for virtual cards are all part of this. The availability of these options makes it easy and convenient for commuters to keep their Nol cards topped up.
Nol Plus Loyalty Program:
The RTA has introduced the Nol Plus loyalty and rewards program for Nol cardholders. This initiative allows members to earn points and enjoy special benefits each time they use their Nol card for various services, such as Dubai Metro, taxi fares, public buses, or parking charges. Accumulated loyalty points can be used to top up the Nol account or redeem discounts at participating restaurants and shops.
Enhancing the commuter experience:
The adjustment in the minimum top-up amount aims to enhance the overall commuter experience by ensuring that Nol card users maintain an adequate balance for seamless travel across the city's public transportation network. The Nol card continues to play a crucial role in promoting hassle-free and efficient payment solutions for residents and visitors in Dubai.
