Dubai announces opening of "Etihad Exhibition" to support education

With the help of several government organizations, such as the Department of Islamic Affairs and A charity Events Dubai Customs, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai, the Community Development Authority in Dubai, and the Dubai Charitable Society, the "Union Exhibition" in Dubai got underway under the auspices of Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority.

Showcasing Unity for Education

The Union Exhibition is hosted at the Al Barsha Hall of the Community Development Authority from December 11 to 13, 2023. Opening its doors from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., the event aims to attract international and local companies, small business owners, and productive families. The primary goal is to bolster charitable and community work, aligning with the strategic plans of participating entities.

Institutional responsibility and social impact

During the exhibition's inauguration, Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. She highlighted the need for supporting and empowering members of society through improved educational opportunities, training programs, and the creation and marketing of emerging projects. The collaboration with the private sector was underscored as crucial for expanding financial support for children from low-income families, thereby enhancing their future economic prospects.

Financial Independence and Local Economy Boost

The Director General expressed pleasure in collaborating with partners like Dubai Customs, stating that this initiative lays the groundwork for future financial and social empowerment. Encouraging and supporting productive Emirati families in developing home production was emphasized, acknowledging the vital role of small and medium enterprises in contributing to the local economy.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs in Dubai, commended the initiative by the Dubai Charitable Association. He praised the collaborative effort with strategic partners for supporting education, viewing it as a manifestation of solidarity and cooperation among community institutions.

Islamic Values and Societal Happiness

The Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai is dedicated to its social role, as stressed by Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the department. In line with the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, he emphasized the value of charitable work in promoting societal happiness, the perpetuation of goodness, and the advancement of civilization.

Dubai Customs' Perspective

Rashid Obaid Al Sharid, Executive Director of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Sector at Dubai Customs, underlined the department's dedication to enhancing solidarity and compassion through sustainable community initiatives. He emphasized the role of these initiatives in supporting purposeful causes, particularly in the educational sector.

Commercial Presence and Philanthropy

The exhibition features approximately 50 commercial stores with international brands, local companies, and small business owners. A special section is allocated to productive families free of charge, alongside the Lootah Technical Center for product development, marketing strategies, and training on innovative methodologies. Part of the exhibition proceeds will contribute to supporting the educational process, reinforcing the event's commitment to community and charitable building.
