Dubai allocates More than 2.8 million sqft for educational institutions

The investment portfolio of the Knowledge Fund Establishment, which is in charge of overseeing investments in Dubai that are focused on education, has grown substantially.

With a significant 47.2% growth from the previous year's conclusion, the portfolio's market value reached Dh1.01 billion at the close of 2023. The Fund's strategic approach to managing its portfolio, which prioritizes diversity and seeking out new, potential investment opportunities, is reflected in this increase.

More than 2.8 million square feet of educational assets were given in Dubai in 2023 by the Knowledge Fund Establishment, a staggering 211% rise from the previous year. The places in Dubai where these assets are stashed are Nad Al Sheba, Al Barsha, Al Khawaneej, Al Twar, Nad Hessa, Mizhar, Al Nahda, and Al Ruwayyah, among others. The plan is to reach a wide range of people and make room for new educational initiatives, such as preschools and elementary schools that will teach subjects from the United Kingdom, India, France, and the United States.

The Chairman of the Board, Ahmed Abdulkarim Julfar, expressed satisfaction with the Fund's achievements, highlighting the market value exceeding one billion dirhams. He emphasized the role of these investments in meeting the education sector's needs, supporting educational initiatives, and contributing to sustainability in the emirate.

The Knowledge Fund Establishment actively engages with investors, attracting financing for educational activities and encouraging investments in educational assets. In 2023 alone, the Fund provided over Dh250 million to support various educational initiatives. CEO Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar affirmed the Fund's commitment to being a pioneer in examining fraudulent travel documents and acting as a reference for relevant authorities.

Educational initiatives managed by the Fund, including 'Dubai Schools,' have recorded notable achievements, witnessing a 31% increase in student enrollment compared to the previous year. This indicates growing interest from families in Dubai to enroll their children in these schools, known for providing an exemplary educational environment.

The Fund's collaboration with entities such as the Emirates Literature Foundation and Innoventures Education underscores its commitment to strengthening partnerships and further supporting the education sector in Dubai. The 2023-2025 strategic plan aims to solidify Dubai's position as a global hub for educational investments, emphasizing sustainable growth and meeting the evolving needs of investors in the education sector.
