Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed breaks fast with worshippers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan were among the dignitaries who joined the community for iftar in the courtyard of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
While attendees gathered for the evening iftar meal on Sunday, a magnificent demonstration of leadership unfolded. As an exemplar of modesty and kindness, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan took part in this revered Ramadan ritual.
The unexpected presence of royalty left the faithful in awe, with some rising to show their respect while others remained captivated by the dignified presence of their leaders. Capturing the moment on their mobile phones, attendees witnessed Sheikh Mohamed and his companions join them for iftar.
After a delicate inquiry about everyone's health, Sheikh Mohamed gently urged them to break their fast of thirteen hours and thirty-three minutes and start their iftar. The president was accompanied by vice president Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi, doctor Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, and sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as they served lunches to the population on the ground.
During the iftar, the leaders enjoyed a modest meal consisting of salad, fruit, traditional rice dishes with meat, and beverages such as water and laban. Inside the mosque, Sheikh Mohamed interacted with worshippers, further demonstrating his commitment to engaging with the people.
Throughout his leadership, Sheikh Mohamed has endeared himself to the people by visiting their homes, acknowledging their contributions, celebrating their accomplishments, and inspiring them in their endeavors. His approachability and willingness to connect with individuals, as seen in a viral video from July 2023 where he spontaneously took a photo with two expatriates, have left a lasting impression on residents, earning him the title of the people's leader.
