The UAE floating hospital, now stationed at Al Arish Port, Egypt, is actively receiving injured Palestinians from Gaza, in line with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's directive to extend support to Gaza residents as part of the 'Gallant Knight 3' humanitarian operation.
Collaborating with the Ministry of Defense, the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi (DoH), and AD Ports Group, the hospital boasts a team of 100 medical and administrative personnel specializing in anesthesia, general surgery, orthopedics, emergency medicine, nursing, and paramedics. Featuring 100 beds, along with operating rooms, intensive care units, radiology facilities, laboratories, pharmacies, and medical cabinets, the maritime hospital complements the 200-bed UAE integrated field hospital inaugurated on December 3, 2023.
Led by Dr. Falah Almahmoud, the floating hospital's director, it significantly bolsters the UAE's medical assistance to Gaza, equipped with cutting-edge equipment adhering to international healthcare standards and protocols. Since its arrival, it has swiftly attended to injured and sick individuals, offering comprehensive care, treatment, and medication. The hospital's helipad and marine boat further facilitate prompt medical responses to emergencies and critical cases, ensuring swift intervention when needed most.
The grateful Palestinian patients who have received treatment from the floating hospital are extremely appreciative of the UAE and its leadership. They praise the commitment of medical and volunteer teams who have been there for the Palestinian people through thick and thin, and they hail the country's steadfast support and solidarity with them.
