UAE urges early airport arrival as rains impact flight schedules
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued forecasts indicating that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will experience ongoing rainfall and fluctuating winds until Tuesday.
These weather conditions are expected to result in reduced horizontal visibility, prompting cautionary measures for travelers.
In response to the unstable weather conditions, major UAE airlines, including Emirates, Etihad, and FlyDubai, have advised passengers departing the country on Monday and Tuesday to allocate additional time for airport transit. While flight operations remain unaffected by the inclement weather, potential road delays in Dubai have prompted Emirates to recommend early arrival at the airport to facilitate check-in procedures. A spokesperson for Emirates conveyed this recommendation, urging travelers to plan for extra travel time and complete check-in formalities ahead of arrival at Dubai International Airport.
Similarly, FlyDubai has echoed the sentiment, advising passengers to allow for extra time for their journey to the airport. They recommend arriving at least four hours before the scheduled departure time of their flight to mitigate potential delays. Additionally, FlyDubai suggests staying updated on flight statuses through their website and encourages passengers to check in online before arriving at the airport to streamline the process.
On the other hand, Etihad Airways has assured passengers that all flights from Abu Dhabi are operating normally at present, despite the adverse weather conditions affecting the region.
The NCM's earlier announcement regarding ongoing rainfall and varying winds underscores the importance of exercising caution while traveling during this period. Reduced horizontal visibility poses challenges for road and air travel, emphasizing the need for travelers to remain vigilant and heed advice from authorities and airline operators.
As travelers navigate through the impacts of the unstable weather conditions, staying informed about flight schedules, planning for potential delays, and allowing ample time for airport transit are essential steps to ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience amidst the challenging weather conditions prevailing in the UAE.
