UAE February Weather Instability: Rain, Cold, and Strong Winds Forecast
The National Centre of Meteorology has confirmed that February, part of the winter season, will witness the Arabian Gulf region remaining under the influence of the Siberian high air mass, accompanied by a cold northern air mass.
This will result in a general decrease in temperatures throughout the country during the month. However, there may be a slight increase in some areas in the second half of the month compared to January.
Presently, the country is experiencing partly cloudy to cloudy weather, occasionally interspersed with cumulus clouds over the northern and eastern regions. Rainfall is occurring, particularly in the west, leading to a drop in temperatures. The winds are moderate to active, with strength increasing, especially at sea, causing dust and reduced horizontal visibility. The sea conditions are turbulent to very turbulent in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to turbulent in the Sea of Oman.
The National Center of Meteorology noted that the country will be affected by the passage of air depressions from the Mediterranean Sea during this month, resulting in unstable weather conditions. Southern winds will stir up dust and sand, and rain clouds may multiply. The prevailing winds during February are expected to be southerly in the morning, transitioning to westerly and northwesterly during the day. Additionally, the country may be influenced by active northwesterly winds known as "northern winds."
This month is predicted to see a rise in relative humidity and the potential for dense and light fog to build, particularly in coastal locations in the early morning hours. Between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius are predicted to be the average temperature in February, while between 23 and 28 degrees Celsius are predicted to be the average maximum temperature. It is anticipated that the minimum temperature will range from 12 to 16 degrees Celsius.
