UAE casino news: RAK Wynn Resorts will receive the country's first gaming licence
Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts Group, asserts that "We have everything we need to operate gaming in Al Marjan."
According to sister publication Hotelier Middle East, which spoke with Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings during an interview, the UAE is on schedule to open its first casino in Ras Al Khaimah.
A casino will be built in the UAE, specifically in the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, according to an exclusive confirmation acquired by the renowned Las Vegas corporation, which is well-known for its extravagant casino resorts.
"We are fully equipped to run gaming in Al Marjan. I anticipate receiving our licence for Ras Al Khaimah very soon', he said.
"I believe there is confusion because there is a lack of knowledge regarding the distinction between the different Emirates and the UAE as a whole. It's obviously a 10, as I believe I previously stated to a state and federal system. Regarding UAE regulations that forbid gambling, Billings stated, "But there should be no worry that there is a legalisation process that needs to place in order for gaming to occur in that property.
Wynn Al Marjan Island will have 1,500 rooms, suites, and villas in addition to a spa, a variety of restaurants, an events space, and a theatre for "unique production shows."
The resort will feature nightly laser and light displays, evoking the legendary Las Vegas experience, and is built to accommodate both extended stays and day excursions from the six other emirates.
The integrated resort, which is estimated to be around $3.9 billion, will have the first confirmed casino in the UAE when it debuts in 2027.
The resort's emphasis on a variety of leisure options is highlighted by the modest 4% of the hotel's overall space that will be devoted to this casino facility.
Additionally, Billings previously emphasised the enormous contribution Wynn Resorts is providing to the UAE project.
We anticipate a very high return from this offer. Therefore, that is where our design and development efforts are truly concentrated right now," he said.
