The initial stage of Egypt's professional verification program was launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower. For the sake of Saudi Arabia's labor market, the program's overarching goal is to harmonize the two nations' systems for evaluating workers' abilities.

Professional Verification Program in Egypt

The initial phase of the program focuses on five vocational fields:

  1. Plumbing
  2. Electricity
  3. Welding
  4. Automobile mechanics
  5. Carpentry

Subsequent phases are expected to include additional vocational fields. This initiative in Egypt follows the successful implementation of the program in countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Ensuring Skilled Workers

Ensuring that people join the Saudi labor market with the appropriate skills for their chosen professions is a critical function of the program. It is now essential for some positions in the Kingdom to have a professional verification certificate when hiring laborers. A reputable inspection facility awards this certificate to personnel in their home country after they successfully pass both the theoretical and practical exams.

The Professional Accreditation System

The Professional Verification Program, along with other development initiatives, falls under the umbrella of the Professional Accreditation System. This reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to establishing a robust and appealing labor market characterized by flexibility, swift response to changing conditions, and the attraction of highly skilled workers.

This move is in line with Saudi Arabia's broader strategy to strengthen its workforce through systematic skills assessment, ensuring that foreign labor entering the country contributes effectively to the nation's development.

Saudi Arabia continues to refine its approach to labor management, fostering a market that aligns with its economic goals and promotes the professional growth of its workforce.
