Qatar Airways reveals new flight expansion to a new African city
Qatar Airways, a leading airline renowned for its commitment to excellence and innovation in air travel, has made a significant announcement regarding its expansion plans in Africa.
The airline has revealed its intention to introduce new flights to Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This strategic move is aimed at not only enhancing connectivity within the African continent but also establishing Kinshasa as a vital hub for international travel to prominent destinations such as China, Europe, and the Indian Subcontinent via Doha, Qatar.
The addition of Kinshasa to its route network has allowed Qatar Airways to reach twenty-nine locations around Africa, thus solidifying its position as a major player in the aviation industry on the continent. As its first service to Kinshasa launches concurrently with a boost in weekly flights from one to four to Luanda, the capital of Angola, the airline will enhance its fleet.
A state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner will operate the flights to Kinshasa, boasting a spacious cabin design comprising 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class, ensuring passengers a pleasant and satisfying journey.
As he highlighted the initiative's strategic importance in fortifying Qatar Airways' position in Africa, Mr. Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways, expressed his enthusiasm for the airline's most recent development plan. By facilitating easy access to locations across the globe via Qatar Airways' hub at Doha's Hamad International Airport, he underlined the need to enhance connectivity within the region.
Antinori emphasized Qatar Airways' commitment to Africa, saying that the airline's decision to add Kinshasa to its network is evidence of its commitment to giving African travelers more connectivity and travel options. He commended Qatar Airways for helping African travelers tour the world and for making it easy and convenient for them to visit a variety of locations.
