India: Akasa Air Launches Doha Operations, Enhancing Connectivity

Akasa Air, India’s rapidly expanding airline, has initiated services from Doha, linking it with Mumbai through four weekly non-stop flights.

The inaugural flight departed on March 28th from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Qatar's National Tourism Strategy 2030 targets attracting 6 million visitors annually. This route launch addresses the increasing demand for air travel between India and Qatar, fostering improved connectivity and cargo capacity to boost trade and tourism between the two countries.

The debut flight received a warm reception at Hamad International Airport, attended by dignitaries including Vipul, the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, Mohammed Hassan Jabir Al-Jabir, the Qatari Ambassador to India, alongside Akasa Air and Hamad International Airport leadership.

Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and SVP International at Akasa Air, stated, "Initiating operations from Doha marks a significant milestone for Akasa as we expand globally. Direct flights between Doha and Mumbai will meet the rising demand for travel and support bilateral trade growth. Upholding the highest safety standards and service excellence, we aim to be the preferred airline on this route."

Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Akasa Air, added, "We're excited to introduce the Akasa experience to Doha, a culturally rich city. Since its launch in August 2022, Akasa Air has served over 7.75 million passengers and operates in 21 cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and now Doha, providing extensive connectivity and service excellence.
