The Qatar real estate sector has made a significant impact on the nation’s economic performance by contributing QR13.44 billion ($3.69 billion) to the GDP in the first quarter of 2025, representing 7.4% of the total economic output, according to Yousuf Mohamed Al Jaida, CEO of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC).

During his address at the third Qatar Real Estate Forum, Al Jaida underscored the pivotal role of real estate in advancing Qatar's strategic goal of diversifying its economy. He reiterated QFC’s dedication to fostering a transparent and stable business environment that underpins sustainable growth.

Al Jaida elaborated on how QFC facilitates efficient operations for real estate firms through clear regulatory frameworks and a comprehensive ecosystem that includes advanced infrastructure, sector expertise, and strategic partnership opportunities.

Enhancing Digital Transformation

Further emphasizing innovation, Al Jaida highlighted QFC’s initiatives like the Digital Assets Lab and Tech Circle, designed to propel digital transformation within property technology (PropTech). These initiatives encourage collaboration among entrepreneurs and investors.

He stressed identifying new growth areas to sustain momentum within the sector, citing real estate as essential in constructing a dynamic business landscape focused on growth.

QFC offers flexible ownership models such as special purpose vehicles (SPVs), trusts, and family offices, providing robust structures for holding real estate assets. The Centre works closely with government agencies to streamline property registration processes; an onsite Ministry of Justice office ensures expedited services for investors.

According to Al Jaida, QFC’s legal framework—rooted in common law principles and aligned with international standards—positions it as a trustworthy platform for real estate investments where investor rights are safeguarded, contracts enforced reliably, fostering both local and foreign investments.

Al Jaida also reaffirmed support for entrepreneurs focusing on digital asset products and distributed ledger technologies (DLT) through initiatives like the Digital Assets Lab. As demand rises for intelligent real estate solutions, PropTech companies continue their rapid expansion, reshaping industry futures.
