Now that these nations have chosen to recognize "Palestine" as a state, they are confronted with its consequences. Among these is the potential responsibility to bring "Palestine" before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing it of genocide.

In recent times, Israel has been subjected to allegations at The Hague by South Africa and others, accusing it of genocide for its defensive actions following Hamas’s attack on October 7. Although Israel adheres strictly to international warfare laws, the ICJ continues this politically charged case while seemingly ignoring Hamas's clear genocidal declarations.

If "Palestine" is indeed regarded as a state under international law—as many governments now assert—this status demands scrutiny through legal mechanisms. Recognition should not be merely symbolic; it bears diplomatic weight and enforceable obligations under international law.

Thus, accountability must extend to "Palestine" for Hamas’s actions on October 7 and subsequent incidents like hostage situations and ongoing torture.

While Western leaders advocate for Palestinian sovereignty, they simultaneously deny recognition to Hamas, which controls Gaza. So whom are they recognizing? The Palestinian Authority appears as the nominal representative despite lacking control over Gaza and extending presidential terms indefinitely while financially supporting individuals involved in terrorism. Meanwhile, Hamas proudly celebrates their recent violent actions.

The Genocide Convention mandates that a state must not only prosecute acts committed by its agents but also prevent or punish genocides occurring within its jurisdiction or influence.

It's particularly notable that in 2014, the Palestinian Authority became part of the Genocide Convention community. By doing so, it undertook obligations to avert genocide and hold perpetrators accountable—obligations it cannot now disregard while claiming benefits as a recognized state entity.
